Broodmares and Rearing

Hillwood Stud has facilities for permanent boarding broodmares.  Our experienced team are on call 24 hours a day during the season and the foaling boxes are equipped with CCTV.  Our close proximity to the M4 means that ‘walking in’ to stallions is very easy from Hillwood.  Our 130 acres of paddocks mean that we can rear youngstock through until their Sales Preparation or they go into training. 

Breaking and Pre-Training

Hillwood Stud has excellent facilities for breaking and pre-training horses of all ages. Our lunge ring, two covered horsewalkers and circular two and a half furlong railed all weather gallop help to give horses the perfect start to their ridden life or to build up their levels of fitness before returning to their racing yards. 

Rest and Rehabilitation

Hillwood Stud is the perfect environment for a horse that needs a break or is recovering from injury.  As well as our professional team we have our own equine chiropractor and masseur. They are complimented by a Game Ready Cold Therapy machine, Laser and Magnetic massage rug. With a plentiful supply of restricted turn out and a yard set in a quiet, relaxing atmosphere it is the ultimate in equine health farms.  Once a horse has finished its R&R it can make a seamless transition into our pre-training programme.

Sales Preparation

Hillwood Stud consigns to all the major Yearling, Breeze Up and Breeding Stock Sales in England and to some sales abroad.  Our sales team will ensure that we achieve the best possible price for your horse and that they will be prepared to the highest standard using our state of the art facilities.
